Core Values

These are our valuables – those things we value in our church. (If you would prefer a more ‘poetic’ presentation, see Perichoresis) They are not written here to be ‘exclusive’ or make us look good, they are simply what we aspire to in our weakness. 

Jesus centred – Jesus is the centre and model for our lives

Biblical – we acknowledge and live by the truth and integrity of the Bible, as interpreted through the person of Jesus

Charismatic – we are dependent upon the empowerment, equipping and guidance of the Holy Spirit

Community – we are committed to being “salt” and “light”, bringing practical and spiritual transformation to all areas of our community, with a bias to the poor

Discipleship – we encourage one another to have a lifestyle of following and learning from Jesus

Evangelistic – we make Jesus known through our lives and words, locally and globally

Gifting – we all have God given gifts to contribute to the life and growth of the church

Holiness – we are called to live radical lives of integrity and truth in obedience to God

Inclusive – we value and honour all, believing that the gospel is for every nation, generation and background

Leadership – we practice anointed servant leadership, working in team under God

Prayer – we partner with God in His work through prayer to see His will done

Relational – as God shows us in the trinity, so we love one another

Worshipping – we seek to express the beauty of God, and our love for Jesus, sacrificially in our lives together

 The Well is a mainstream Christian church with a commitment to biblical authenticity and cultural relevance 

These are a list of our agreed values -recognising that truth does not change.

We will always affirm all of these values, however, the relevant application of truth into a society requires prophetic emphasis in its season.

Theologically we subscribe the the Evangelical Alliance Statement of Faith

We are a connected church, linking with the wider Body of Christ in many ways:

Nationally we are part of Churches Together In England
and the Pioneer Network of churches

Locally we are part of Southwark For Jesus.

Originally we were started with Ichthus Christian Fellowship

Cross culturally we connect with INet local churches in global mission

Additionally…we are also a part of the Baptist Union of Great Britian and London Baptist Association
